       Update on the Old Woman
                                                who lived in a Shoe.

February 2, 2008:

The Old Woman fell down and broke her leg.
She had to have surgery and have pins and plates placed in both bones in her leg. The doctor said she had to wear the cast for 6 weeks and then go through 6 weeks of physical therapy. “What about massage therapy?” asked the old woman.
The doctor said, “Of course. You can get a massage while you’re wearing your cast. And receiving a massage when you’re going through physical therapy is an excellent idea. Moderate exercise and massage therapy will be beneficial for your long-term recovery. It will help with flexibility, strengthening and range of motion.”
So the old woman went to physical therapy, did all the exercises faithfully and had a weekly massage to help her aching body. Months after her cast was off and physical therapy was concluded. She exercised and continued to receive weekly massage therapy. And she felt energetic, refreshed and cheerful.

*** Make an appointment for a massage early in the day .  Or at the end of the day.  Find a way to pamper yourself all day long.

*** Treat your college-aged student to a massage.  Better yet, treat the two of you to a little time out.

*** Only have a short time for lunch?  Stop by for a ˝ hour relaxing break.

*** If you’re travelling, make an appointment for the day after you return.

I’M WALKING 60 MILES OVER THREE DAYS BECAUSE EVERYONE DESERVES A LIFETIME.

On September 26, 27, 28, 2008, I’ll be walking 60 miles over the course of three days and camping out at night with thousands of other women and men who will be taking this journey with me.

The Breast Cancer 3-Day is a remarkable journey designed to raise funds and awareness for Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust. I must raise at least $2,200 in order to participate, but I hope to raise much more! I invite you to support me and join the global movement to end breast cancer forever.  I need your help! Would you please consider making a donation?

The total is high, but this is a big event, and I have a lot of miles to walk to train before the big weekend.  I have to admit, it’s a pretty daunting task.

You can donate online by going directly to my team’s page, my personal page or the 3-Day Site.  While I have all summer to raise the money, my goal is to raise the entire amount by June 1st so I can concentrate on training.

If you would like to walk with me during my training, I’d love to have the company.

Thank you,
